Oooooo!!! My dreams have very nearly come true! I have gotten to see a Midwest thunder & lightening storm…. At least from afar. I got some cool video…

after the flash of light, that’s it. The storms keep missing us. Going to the south or east of us instead I swear somebody has it out for me.
We went to the biggest liquor store that I have ever been in. In Grand Forks there is a place called Happy Harrys. Not only is there TOO much to choose from its cheap too! A 1/2 gallon of Black Velvet is only 14.99!!! Amazing. Needless to say we spent over $200 at the store. I think that is more booze than I have ever purchased in my entire life, at one time anyway.
Hopefully we’ll be golfing a bit for the next few days. I get to see a very close friend of mine. Maybe I’ll convince her that she needs to stay the night. I want to go get a massage or something. I know that we’ll be shopping. Yea! Grand Forks is really a nice town. It reminds me of Yakima, but in a positive way, not in a shitty low end kind of way if you know what I mean and I think you do.
ok bub-bye

Friday/Saturday/today
Posted by lorenda on July 23, 2006
Well Friday was lots of fun! The Flintstone thing was cute and kitcshy. We got a few souvenirs and lots of pictures. Then we drove on we got to see crazy horse it is really big even if it is unfinished. We didn’t know if we were going to be able to see it or not but as your driving by it is very prominent. Then we went to Rushmore. We didn’t have any cash so we figured that a government run operation would take plastic. We were wrong. So they let us turn around in the parking lot and we snapped a few from the truck. And as your driving the southern rd you can see the profile of G. Washington. People were climbing the back side of the mountain! Scary. Then as were were leaving we noticed that we didn’t have any gas so we had to go back to Custer for gas. And on the way there we decided that because we were making such good time that we would go to deadwood after all, instead of diverting through rapid city. So we got to see more of S. Dakota, let me tell you it really is a pretty state. So at deadwood we went to the cemetery and seen Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane’s graves & a few other notables. The graveyard is on a hill overlooking the city. It really does have a beautiful view. Then we went to Sturgis and got a few t-shirts of course. Then headed on to Belle Fourche. We made really good time on Friday. In fact it was so good that we made it to the hotel by 6-6:30 when we left Sheridan WY at about 6-7 am. There were lots of stops and we spent a bit of time in each place. The hotel in Belle Fourche is so new that the landscaping isn’t even done yet. I even found construction dust in the bathroom!
on Saturday we didn’t wake up when we wanted to and naturally got a slow start. We got on the road at 5:30. And on the way up to N. Dakota there were so many antelope and deer just hanging out at the side of the road and in the fields. On the way up we traveled the enchanted HWY. It has all the HUGE metal sculptures. And of course we had to stop at each one… They are really cool. Then we stopped in Hebron and had lunch, really good. Then we made our way to Minot. Again we mad excellent time. We got into Minot at about 2:30. Went to the bar had a few drinks. Brad showed up. We had a few more drinks then we went to dinner. Then golfing. Our tee time was 7:03. Weird eh? On the 5 or 6 th hole we were joined by and old friend/cousin and his wife and they rode along with us and on the 9 th hole (11 pm) it was so dark that they actually had to call us in off the course! From there we went to a little bar in Minot called rangers. It was really nice to be able to smoke and have a drink in the same spot! Because they close the bars at 1 am here we left at about 12:45 or so and made it to Mohall at about 1:30. We stayed up and bullshited for about an hour or so and then we went to bed dog ass tired. It was a really good day.
So far today has been good. got up late… then had some really good coffee. then went to the grocery store so i can make us some dinner. i’m gonna make my baked chicken tonite and the kelbasia dinner tommorrow. tasty! and now that the boys have gone golfing i have a little time to myself to get this posting done and to ready dinner.
this has been a really good trip so far. i really do like it a lot back here.

Well last day in Washington. I woke up too damn early and now I’m cranky. At least I’ll get a good nap this evening. That way I’ll be up through the night so I can get shit done while Scott sleeps. Then I can wake is cranky ass up so we can go early. Got some movies so we can watch/listen, taking my knitting, and I’m pretty sure any food that I can take is already in the cooler. I think what I’m gonna do is post a few pictures here but most of them are going to be posted on the other site “PHOTOS” . Mainly so they are all in one place.
I am all kinds of excited, and a little worried. We were talking to the fellow we’re going to visit and he was saying that in South Dakota its been in the high teens. Meaning 117 &119 degrees!!!! That is so Fucked up. And I know that here on Thursday and Friday its gonna be in the low 100’s. So we’ll see. I am hoping to get thunderstorms when we go back. Because the humidity is so high back there once it starts to get really hot the clouds start forming and they have really cool storms. And because the cascades stop the clouds from rolling in, we don’t get to many here.
Man I hope blogger doesn’t continue to be fucking stupid. Earlier I couldn’t even view this page. It was saying access denied. WTF! So whatever.
Ok there are a few last errands I need to run so I’m gonna sign off and take care of it before “tomorrow” starts.

Wow, Scott and I have really been busy with the planning. We’re gonna leave on Thursday at 4 or 5 am. I’ve already got the cooler mostly packed. With the stuff that needs to be cooled but not yet. Need to clean a bit more around the house before we go. Sold a few more items on eBay, yea! I’ve also been sewing, mostly mending and taking in a few items for myself and for Ryan before she leaves. She leaves for Florida on the the 26th. Damn I’m gonna miss that girl.
I went over there to visit last night. Thought I would be nice and pick us up some coffees. And what did I do? I spilled my chai all over the passenger(my) seat! Scott had just detailed it the day before. He even shampooed the rugs! Damn it. So I was going to go and clean it myself before I told him but I’m to damn honest and told him what I did before I came home just to let him know I was going to be late. He just said to leave it and he would take and clean it again. He is so damn cool. Such a lovely boy.
My neighbor trimmed my hair this morning. Cleaning up the mess I left from before. So now I’m going to henna it tonite. They are painting again. This time its the girls bedrooms and the hallway. They have two kittens. And if I can convince Scott I think that we are going to take one once we get back.
Oh and earlier this past week we went golfing, boy was I stupid. I wore a tank top and no sunscreen. So you know what that equals. Needless to say it is just getting to the point now to where it doesn’t hurt when my bra hits it.
I went shopping yesterday. Got the cutest shoes! A really nice denim skirt and a coupla shirts and capris. But because I am so dang short the capris are like hi-waters on me. So I have to hem those before we go.
So much stuff to be done, and of course not enough time to do it in.
Oh I need to give a shout out to DAN YVONNA KEN CAROL MYRANDA & BRIDGET. (I hope I spelled it right girls) kisses and loves, don’t worry I’ll be over soon. I hope. If not I hope you can wait till sometime in August.

Sorry bout the lapse. i’ve just been caught up i suppose.
on Friday night / Saturday morning one of my very good friends had her 3 baby. oooo excitement! very healthy i might add. on saturday evening i made dinner for Ryan who turned 17 on sunday. just my little gift. and because i thought there were going to be 6 instead of 3 people. i made lots of food and even cleaned my dining room. if you know what my house looks like then you know it was a feat in and of itself.
but now i can get to the sewing machine, yes i keep it in the dining room until my sewing room is finished. and i altered a skirt for ryans mom, made cat toys and even fixed a pair of pants and shorts that i’ve been meaning to get around to.
oh and i fianally got off my ass and got a few things into ebay that i need to sell. old books and crap.
ooo we semi solidified the plans for the ND trip. i’ll fill you in on the details later. but here is a ruff map.

Well past coupla days have been good! On Monday we went over to Jeff n Lusaka house to celebrate the fourth. I started getting the adults all liquored up and when it was time to light the fireworks I was the only one sober enough! So I helped the kids light as many “bombs” as we had and a wonderful night of explosives ensued. Then I went inside and downed 2 more shots… And then all the tequila was gone. Between 4 of us we went through 2&1/8th bottles. thhaaats a lotta booze. Needless to say all the girls hurled and the boys just had hangovers. But it was a lot of fun.
now I’ve been really focusing on the house. My kitchen is clean. The dining room will be tackled tomorrow. This weekend I am cooking a gourmet dinner for a beautiful girl, who is soon to be leaving us for Florida. And because Saturday is her birthday I figured it would be a good gift. Besides she’s enamored with my spectacular chefanaudacule abilities.
oh and I bought some henna for my feet. I’ll show you a picture when I get’em done. oh yea and we’re going to visit ND this month. hubby wants to drive. Yecch.
