Little spooky

Posted by lorenda on August 10, 2006

Tuesday night/Wednesday morn I went outside to snap a few shots of the moon cuz it was full. And I was a little disappointed cuz we usually have clouds when its full but none then. So I started snapping the cats and surprise surprise they don’t like the flash, haha. Then I was struck with a little “ah ha” moment and I said in a very loud and clear voice “if anyone would like you picture taken now would be the time to let me photograph you” and I started snapping pictures. Surprise to me, even tho’ I shouldn’t have been. I got quite a few ORBS and tracers! Some really big too. So if you want to see them just go to “photos” on the side bar/

On Wednesday we went golfing with Jessica. Even tho she doesn’t & didn’t want to golf she drove the cart. We all had a wonderful time then we went to red robin and had supper. Its been so good to spend time with friends that you don’t always get to see.

Oh and you know those seeds I planted? Well they sprouted by sat. And now there is no stopping them. Now if I could just keep the Katz from sleeping in the pots!

Tuesday/Wednesday

Posted by lorenda on May 17, 2006

Well Tuesday was mainly spent traveling. But we did get in a little shopping in Newport. Went to the cat shop and got the kids some cat nip and I found a wonderful frame for my Spector. I also found a cute creamer. The tail is the handle and the spout is the cats paw! We also got to eat at Mo’s. SO GOOD!

Farther down the coast we stopped in Waldport and went golfing at a great little course. We lost more balls than I thought was possible. It was such a challenging course. Boy was it cool.

We got to Reedsport. It reminds me of Yakima. And not in a good way either. I went to sleep. Then we went to dinner, visited Safeway (….Whoopee) & went back and went to sleep.

Wednesday we got a bit of a late start but once we got started there was no stopping us. haha. We decided that today was and 18 hole kinda day. So we get Coos Bay (I like it there & so does Scott) and 1/2 of the course is closed! Over the winter the levees broke and flooded the place for 55 days, with sea water. So it killed all of the low lying grass and they had aerated and seeded it where needed. So some of the fairways weren’t so fair but the greens were. Weird. Like an island with a flag in it. Both of us also lost a few more balls and I almost made a hole in one! But I say almost because I didn’t quite make it. Scott made this little video of my swing. Sadly, I’m still fat.

When we finally got done we went to this great little local restaurant/lounge. Recommended by the owner of the golf course. MAN! The best food! And great drinks and our waitress/ bartender was spot on. With our dinner they served a side salad. It had: 2 slices of pickled cucumbers, 1 pickled mushroom, 3 slices pepperoni, 2 olives, garbanzo & kidney bean medley, mixed greens, croutons and not to much dressing. So amazing! When we left there the sun was going down just over the hill…

On the way home there was a “scenic viewpoint” & I made Scott pull over even tho he was tired, he is so cool. It turns out the viewpoint was of the Umpqua River Lighthouse.

“this photo from the National Park Service”
ie… Not mine

But if you look closely towards the bottom right of the next photo, actually its at the end of the right leg of the A-line dike, you’ll see a small light(you may need to pull it up in a separate window). That is the lens of the lighthouse you see in here! Not to mention a pretty sunset.

Well sadly our vacation has come to an end. Tommorrow will be spent traveling. We’re gonna go to Frye’s and maybe pick up a small air conditioner… no sales tax! Then we’ll stop in Longview at one of Jeff n Lisa’s favorite resturants and pick up dinner for em. Then after we eat, we’ll traipse over the mountians and sleep in our own bed. YEA!

With all the posting I’ve been doing the last few days I think it’ll be a while before i post again. Maybe.

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY

Posted by lorenda on May 14, 2006

We woke up kinda late, as we both slept hard. We found a wonderful little tavern and had a free show. These 2 “older” ladies, who were clearly drunk, were playing pool then 2 other “older” ladies joined them. They were loud, laughing & having a gay old time. One of em’ even started to hit on these “cute young things”. It was way better than any reality TV.

After breakfast on Sunday morning we did a quick walk around and I had to get a kite. cuz I’ve been itching to fly one for oh, quite some time now. Then we decided that we should golf before we headed down the coast. It was a short course. But really nice.

Here is a video of Scott being his non perfect self. And a picture of him relieving the pressure of the work week. Funny thing is, after he tee’d off and we went over the bridge, we seen an outhouse… ha ha ha.

Traveling down the coast we found wonderful views of course…

Once we got to the hotel we were greeted by a most amazing view… Not to mention the surprise of a full kitchen!

This picture is taken right from the patio. Amazing isn’t it? We really got lucky on this one. At least we don’t have to go out to eat for our meals. That is probably the only thing that I don’t like about vacation. I don’t get to cook. But with that full kitchen WHOOO HOO!

The hotel has beach access. So we can step out the sliding glass door and onto the beach, lickty split. We went down after dinner and checked out the rocks that had a few anemones and barnacles.

And yes we went for the sunset. For some reason it seemed as tho the sun took a long time to set. Maybe it was because I was tired and a bit impatient. But it was still beautiful. We were down on the beach during twilight and made our way back up to the room before the sun fully set. Enjoy!

good day

Posted by lorenda on April 28, 2006

What a beautiful day today has been. Sky was clear, hardly any clouds. Blue blue sky. You could even see the mountains today. Adams and Rainier. H and I went golfing. It was so pretty. I think we both got a little sun. H got a little buzz, and not from a bee.

When we got done we went to the “store” and picked up some halibut and salmon burgers. Guess what we’re having for dinner? I love the halibut. Actually I really like swordfish but it’s kind hard to find ‘cuz it’s either endangered or there is a limit on how many can be caught each year. I’m not sure.

I think next month when I take my vacation we’re gonna go down to Oregon and check out some places to live and the golf courses. But don’t worry we’ll take the camera and I’ll blog the pic’s.

Posted by lorenda on April 21, 2006

Guess what we did? We woke up and played 18 holes of golf today! The weather was gorgeous. a bit windy but sunny and almost cloudless. Came home and barbecued some steak. Made a small tater salad started to watch Apollo 13 and h passed out on the couch while I surfed You-tube.

I found some funny stuff on there. But I haven’t figured out how to post so it’ll just play instead of routing you to the website hmmm… Any suggestions? Well it’s getting late and I’m in need of a porn fix.

Wow what a day. Did a buttload (is that one word or two?) of stuff. Even got some help, she let me know she was quite put out about it. le sigh.
my mom came by today, she stopped in to visit before she had to run down to her work. She brought my driftwood that I found, then left up there when I visited. Its “super cool” I’ll post a picture of them later.
found out that my hubby really did buy my golf clubs but they probably won’t be here till the end of this week. I am so excited. I was hoping they would be here sooner so I could go golfing with out him.
ok I have to get up early tomorrow. And I hate getting up early. But by doing so means I get to go home earlier too. Whoopee!!!

odd

Posted by lorenda on October 9, 2005

Even tho today is my work Monday er actually it would be Tuesday I am doing really good. I found out earlier this week that I will be having weekends off WHOOPEE!! I tell ya that really caught me by surprise.

On my “weekend” I went up and visited my parents. That was nice even tho I haven’t lived at there for over 10 years it still feels a little bit like home. Got to go tromping in the woods, picked a few wild apples, and found some bitchin’ rocks. Not to mention I cleared the area for our Halloween ritual. I love having Samhain up there and the fact that my parents encourage it is pretty freakin’ amazing. It only took them 10 years to come around to it but at least they are here now.

My knitting project is going along at a really good clip. Maybe 5 to 6 more squares and I’ll have enough to make that throw for the couch, then all I have to do is stitch it up. I think that will take the most patience. But for anyone who knows me knows patience is one of my virtues but they could be mistaking that for procrastination.

I hope that I will be receiving my golf clubs soon. It’s kinda fun wackin’ that little white ball around. Now if I could just find a deserted course I would be much happier… I can’t play well under pressure. But then again I really can’t play just yet. But I am getting better.

I know this has been a scattered post, but thats how my mind works. Now if I could invent a program that types as fast as I think….
