Not much to say other than New Years was amazing. We went to a place that allows fireworks, as it does not at “home”. and with the drinking and such that went on the video that follows this post will say more than i will be able to with my fingers.

Other than that we got to spend time with our nephew and our neice this past weekend. As they live over the mountians we rarely get to spend significant chunks of time with them. It was lovely and low key. No expectations, beautiful. It was funny tho, we went from having to wear down coats to light jackets. Amazing the difference a major mountian range makes.

Well with the start of a new year i suppose a few resolutions are in order.

  • Be motivated
  • Procastinate less
  • Finish Major Projects ie.. spare room & bathroom
  • Take a class ie… metalworking, photography or art
  • Make my ass smaller

But i could always resolve to do it next year….

And now without further adiu, the video you have been waiting for with baited breath *cough*

but if that doesn’t work here is the website link… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yO_YgPAtX0s

Yeah.

Posted by lorenda on September 25, 2006

So I got off my ass and did something.

I went to the ocean yesterday, my sister and nephew were going over and they extended the invite. It was a wonderful Sunday to spend there. 78 degrees, light breeze & a mild sunburn. Lovely. Hardly any tourists so lots of shells left untouched. only bad thing was that the batteries in the camera were so low it was shutting off by itself. Oh well. Got a few in before it went tits up. in fact when we crested the pass the sun was just making the horizon lightly pink and “the mountain”, Rainier, was looking ghostly in the distance, so a picture had to be taken. With the first one the settings were wrong so it flashed and just got the trees and etc in the foreground. but weirdly enough I got TONS of orbs! looking at it now kinda gives me the creeps. But I eventually got a picture of the mountain and even a few at the beach before the camera gave out.

On the way home William decided that he couldn’t possibly go to sleep when he got home unless he had a bedtime story. But because we were not going to be home till late we decided that we would tell the story on the way home. So Goldilocks and the three bears was the story on deck. I narrated and Limetta did the speaking parts. He was entranced. All in all a good time was definitely had.

It would be nice if we could go again this week. But with a 4 hour drive the minimum it may not happen.

party

Posted by lorenda on September 4, 2006

Ooooooo I had a party! Let me tell you. It was wonderful. I really live to entertain and make people happy. We had about 34 people over. 9 of them under 10. Friends and all of the family from both sides were there. So much food. Then once it got dark we started a fire and roasted marshmallows. Imagine 6 small children (3-9 respectfully) running around in the dark with long sharp sticks and high on pop and candy. And nobody got hurt. We didn’t have one screaming kid. No fights. It was beautiful. We had bodies over past 1 am then made sure no important food was left out and went to bed. Didn’t wake up until after 12:30 today. I was beat. But it was so good to have everybody over. My parents came down and stayed until 10 or so and Scotts parents stayed way later than they ever have. It was ever so good. But now the trash is picked up & the house seems empty. I really need to have a hobby, other than keeping my house clean.

Fun

Posted by lorenda on June 30, 2006

Ok. We had a blast today! Hubby stayed home and took “care of business” and I had a ton of fun with a little one.

His name is Aidan and is the youngest of a very special friend of mine. She had to work today so we went up to visit my nephew. They are really close in age and Aidan actually requested to go and visit, like I’m gonna say no… yea right.

Today wasn’t hot, but it wasn’t cool either. So when we got up there we went down to the river and played in the water. Then when we had enough of throwing rocks in the water, catching periwinkles, making mud pies, collecting sticks & feathers we went back to the house. They played around outside for a bit finding bugs and teasing the dog. Then, before it got too cool we set up the slip ‘n slide. Although it wasn’t a regular one it is one of those massive blow up ones with the shower at the top of the inflatable slide. I got video of each of their 1st goes….

So they were having a blast climbing up then sliding down and running “fast as fast” can be to get back up there.
‘Bout halfway through they had a bit of a wiggle fest…

All in all they had a wonderful time.

William

Posted by lorenda on June 6, 2006

I went up and visited my parents on Monday/Tuesday. And got to spend quite a bit of time with my folks and sister. And I can’t leave out my nephew. We had to go for safari’s and journeys and hunt for flowers and deer… You get the picture, he’s 5. Well on one of these outings we decided to try to go down to the river. But it is still flooding a bit so we didn’t make it too far but I did get this hilarious clip of him….

new house?

Posted by lorenda on April 16, 2006

Ok so here are a few of the houses… Not all of them are by the ocean, cuz I was thinking what if a tidal/tsunami hit. Or even a really bad storm. Which might be really cool to watch but I don’t know if I want to be caught in it. So I found a few that were in the sticks.

NOW PRESENTING in no particular order …..

#1 I like this house for the location. The river is cool. Its newly built, 2002. But I am a little hesitant because there are not a lot of pictures of the inside. Although their dog looks darling I hardly think he comes with the house.

#2 This house is on 1.2 riverfront acres. Nice eh? The bathroom really caught my eye the. And also the fact that it was built in the 30’s.
http://frame.windermere.com/index.cfm?FUSEACTION=listing%2ElistingDetail&LISTINGID=6742407

#3 This is one of H’s favorites. I think its because it’s newer. It seems a bit um… Middle class/suburbia and I don’t know if I want to be “middle class”. The other thing is that the living seems to have a low ceiling. I know its only the paneling but it still feels like I’m gonna wack my head. Its down in brookings, which is the southern most tip of OR and I know my daddy would have a fit.
http://frame.windermere.com/index.cfm?FUSEACTION=listing%2ElistingDetail&LISTINGID=6825600

#4 This one has really cool curb appeal. The hot tub it located in a weird spot and its also close to a cemetery, and H is a little sensitive to those kinds of energies. But it has a pond with turtles!!!
http://frame.windermere.com/index.cfm?FUSEACTION=listing%2ElistingDetail&LISTINGID=6724608

#5 Rooms are big , the wooden doors are cool. And surprise surprise h likes this one too.
http://frame.windermere.com/index.cfm?FUSEACTION=listing%2ElistingDetail&LISTINGID=6456913

#6 Kitchen is cool, then again its the only inside shots they show. But the yard is small because its….Suburban….. And you guessed it h likes it.
http://frame.windermere.com/index.cfm?FUSEACTION=listing%2ElistingDetail&LISTINGID=6832985

#7 Believe it or not, I’m guessing you will, I love this place. Not only is it old, but its huge. Yes its in town but it has a sun room. It was built in 1900. It has a sitting room up stairs and a balcony. Not to mention wonderful gardens. Even tho its in town its absolutely gorgeous.
http://frame.windermere.com/index.cfm?FUSEACTION=listing%2ElistingDetail&LISTINGID=5969134

#8 This house is another gorgeous one. Built in 1901. All I can say is its damn cool.
http://frame.windermere.com/index.cfm?FUSEACTION=listing%2ElistingDetail&LISTINGID=6483106

#9 Nice and cool. Another one in the sticks. It seems to be at the end of the road. Wonderful views. Fairly new which is why h likes it, but the construction isn’t all right angles. Which is why I like it. And yes its kind suburban but its in the sticks so it cancels it out, I think…
http://frame.windermere.com/index.cfm?FUSEACTION=listing%2ElistingDetail&LISTINGID=6890598 oh and its cheap!!

#10 Ok for starters, you can see the sea. Second it was built in 1946! And its kinda cute. But it is the more expensive house we found…
http://frame.windermere.com/index.cfm?FUSEACTION=listing%2ElistingDetail&LISTINGID=6254416

#11 Big. Old. Wonderful. No ocean views but it has a sunroom. And a hot tub.
http://frame.windermere.com/index.cfm?FUSEACTION=listing%2ElistingDetail&LISTINGID=6907861

#12 Ok, ocean views…. You can see the surf! Big windows, I know I hate to wash them too. The kitchen is nice and its newer, yea for H.
http://frame.windermere.com/index.cfm?FUSEACTION=listing%2ElistingDetail&LISTINGID=6858184

#13 Ooooo this one is really neat. It has a gas stove, in the kitchen. a hot tub on the deck and …… a lap pool!!! I have wanted one of those for so damn long!!!! Plus the yard is nice. Its newer but luckily doesn’t look like it.
http://frame.windermere.com/index.cfm?FUSEACTION=listing%2ElistingDetail&LISTINGID=6499754

Ok there. Hope that’ll tide you over for a while… Have fun. I encourage any Ideas…Feedback…Fuck offs, what ever you have to offer.

Kisses!!!

WTF??

Posted by lorenda on January 25, 2006

Ugh. I went to bed this “morning” at about 2 or 3 and I woke up at 5:30 for NO flippin reason!

I’m on forced vacation for the next 2 days. Because my vacation had been miscalculated and I had thought that I had used it all up . But apparently I still had 3 days left! And this is the last week of the fiscal year so I have to take it or loose it. Not to mention its “merch week” that’s the week that all the heavy lifting for merchandising is done for the month. And you guessed it, I’m in charge. So I had to leave a long list of things for everybody to do for me. And one of the supervisors is out this week due to the aforementioned personal issues. And my direct manager is out also taking her vac and getting some training in. So needless to say were a little shorthanded.

so here I am, awake at a time that no human should be with nothing to do, housework doesn’t count. I think I’ll visit my mom today. Maybe I’ll steal my friends kid and take him up into the mountains for the snow. Go see my nephew. Yea I think that sounds like a good day….

William

Posted by lorenda on January 18, 2006

This is a picture of my nephew, William, when he was 4 ish. He just turned 5 in November. Right next to him is his mom, my sister. She is laughing so hard that she can’t look up. I love this picture and had actually forgotten that I had it until I went searching for more pictures of Spector. It makes me giggle every time I see it. Up to this point we were trying to convince him to put his finger up his nose and he wouldn’t do it. Then he just did. I could barely catch my breath. This boy is the joy of my heart. I thought you might enjoy it.

Ta Da

Posted by lorenda on October 3, 2005

First post. I’ve done the blogg thing before but never seem to be able to stick with it for long. So we’ll see how it goes.

It’s a bit late now, and I’m due to be up in a few hours. Like always I’m not letting my self do the thing I like to do most. Sleep. What is that? Some sort of masochist need for punishment because I wasn’t spanked enough as a child? Self inflicted pain for the following day so it can be shitty too?

Or is it so I can complain and get pity? Attention? Approval? I’ve been watching myself here lately in my interactions with others. And to tell you the truth I’m not liking what I’m seeing. Who have I really become? Some sort of attention whore with bad stories that people tolerate? Some one who really listens or pretends too? Am I the person who you smile and nod at while they ramble on about some shit that has no real ending? No climatic finish. No spark.

When are you going to have children? You’d make such a good mom. Would I? Really? Can you be a good parent when you are wrapped up in you own petty crap? Ya know just because you can have kids doesn’t mean you should.
Damn
