Malaise

Posted by lorenda on August 27, 2006

Well this has been a long uneventful week. I feel as though I am stuck in a rut for some reason. Maybe I need more pets or even a kid to break this monotony. Well that may be a bit drastic.

There are massive fires down in SE Washington. My dad, ever the adventurer, went to help put it out. He will be turning 66 this year. Worry is constant when it comes to my father. Either by him or one of us. Hell I couldn’t even ride my bike on the gravel road by my house until I was 12. Wear any kind of makeup until 13 and then only pinks and no eye liner, mascara, blush or fingernail polish. But that’s a father for you. Damn lucky and grateful to still have him around.

le sigh….

DON’T PANIC is that friendly enough?

well I have a myspace account now. This will still be my main thought page tho. Just look to the side bar over there >>>>>>>>> and I am sure you will see it.

WTF is wrong with me? Why is the wonder of sleep eluding me from her glorious arms? Or his, depending on your chosen faith.
Big day tomorrow, uh, er… Today. Heading to the mountains. Having some lunch with a great friend up there. And then back down to help her tidy her house before her mom and sister arrive.

It would be really nice if a trek to the mountains wasn’t such a burden to others. At least it seems that way. My husband, friends even my family look at me as tho I have lobsters crawling out me ears if it should be suggested. So why then don’t I have the cahones to go alone? Just go. Be alone with the solitude that being on a mountain top or glen brings? Fear? Lack of gas, abduction, wildlife, accidents, aliens who knows! Maybe its just fear. Of being alone. When one feels alone in their daily lives, why seek it out? But isn’t solitude and aloneness different?

GAAA this is why sleep is important!

Fun

Posted by lorenda on June 30, 2006

Ok. We had a blast today! Hubby stayed home and took “care of business” and I had a ton of fun with a little one.

His name is Aidan and is the youngest of a very special friend of mine. She had to work today so we went up to visit my nephew. They are really close in age and Aidan actually requested to go and visit, like I’m gonna say no… yea right.

Today wasn’t hot, but it wasn’t cool either. So when we got up there we went down to the river and played in the water. Then when we had enough of throwing rocks in the water, catching periwinkles, making mud pies, collecting sticks & feathers we went back to the house. They played around outside for a bit finding bugs and teasing the dog. Then, before it got too cool we set up the slip ‘n slide. Although it wasn’t a regular one it is one of those massive blow up ones with the shower at the top of the inflatable slide. I got video of each of their 1st goes….

So they were having a blast climbing up then sliding down and running “fast as fast” can be to get back up there.
‘Bout halfway through they had a bit of a wiggle fest…

All in all they had a wonderful time.

oddness

Posted by lorenda on June 25, 2006

Ya know, Thursday night I had the most terrible time going to sleep. I kept thinking about “work” and and to keep reminding myself that I didn’t have a work. I don’t know how many times I had to do that. Then when I finally went to sleep I got up at 5:30 am.

Friday and Saturday hubby and I watched our niece and nephew. We went and seen Cars. If you get a chance, even if you don’t have kids, you should go. Its really well done. Major attention to detail. Entertaining and lots of guest appearances, they even do a mini movie montage at the end. Its really cute.

Today we went up in the hills to beat the heat. Had a picnic, played Frisbee and messed around in the water. It was a good day today. But now I smell like a fire and dirt. I need to take another shower. Damn.

Its supposed to be 101 degrees tomorrow and Tuesday. Yecch. Tomorrow I might go up and visit the folks in the afternoon/evening. Dad is coming down for a doctors appt. and he is going to swing down a visit and I think I’ll give him his fathers day gift then.

I figure that the no work thing isn’t going to hit me until either later this week or next week sometime. I don’t know, so I suppose we’ll see.

William

Posted by lorenda on June 6, 2006

I went up and visited my parents on Monday/Tuesday. And got to spend quite a bit of time with my folks and sister. And I can’t leave out my nephew. We had to go for safari’s and journeys and hunt for flowers and deer… You get the picture, he’s 5. Well on one of these outings we decided to try to go down to the river. But it is still flooding a bit so we didn’t make it too far but I did get this hilarious clip of him….

WTF??

Posted by lorenda on January 25, 2006

Ugh. I went to bed this “morning” at about 2 or 3 and I woke up at 5:30 for NO flippin reason!

I’m on forced vacation for the next 2 days. Because my vacation had been miscalculated and I had thought that I had used it all up . But apparently I still had 3 days left! And this is the last week of the fiscal year so I have to take it or loose it. Not to mention its “merch week” that’s the week that all the heavy lifting for merchandising is done for the month. And you guessed it, I’m in charge. So I had to leave a long list of things for everybody to do for me. And one of the supervisors is out this week due to the aforementioned personal issues. And my direct manager is out also taking her vac and getting some training in. So needless to say were a little shorthanded.

so here I am, awake at a time that no human should be with nothing to do, housework doesn’t count. I think I’ll visit my mom today. Maybe I’ll steal my friends kid and take him up into the mountains for the snow. Go see my nephew. Yea I think that sounds like a good day….

Wow what a day. Did a buttload (is that one word or two?) of stuff. Even got some help, she let me know she was quite put out about it. le sigh.
my mom came by today, she stopped in to visit before she had to run down to her work. She brought my driftwood that I found, then left up there when I visited. Its “super cool” I’ll post a picture of them later.
found out that my hubby really did buy my golf clubs but they probably won’t be here till the end of this week. I am so excited. I was hoping they would be here sooner so I could go golfing with out him.
ok I have to get up early tomorrow. And I hate getting up early. But by doing so means I get to go home earlier too. Whoopee!!!

odd

Posted by lorenda on October 9, 2005

Even tho today is my work Monday er actually it would be Tuesday I am doing really good. I found out earlier this week that I will be having weekends off WHOOPEE!! I tell ya that really caught me by surprise.

On my “weekend” I went up and visited my parents. That was nice even tho I haven’t lived at there for over 10 years it still feels a little bit like home. Got to go tromping in the woods, picked a few wild apples, and found some bitchin’ rocks. Not to mention I cleared the area for our Halloween ritual. I love having Samhain up there and the fact that my parents encourage it is pretty freakin’ amazing. It only took them 10 years to come around to it but at least they are here now.

My knitting project is going along at a really good clip. Maybe 5 to 6 more squares and I’ll have enough to make that throw for the couch, then all I have to do is stitch it up. I think that will take the most patience. But for anyone who knows me knows patience is one of my virtues but they could be mistaking that for procrastination.

I hope that I will be receiving my golf clubs soon. It’s kinda fun wackin’ that little white ball around. Now if I could just find a deserted course I would be much happier… I can’t play well under pressure. But then again I really can’t play just yet. But I am getting better.

I know this has been a scattered post, but thats how my mind works. Now if I could invent a program that types as fast as I think….
